The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reminds of the liability for forging migration documents

The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk, reported that the fight against shadow schemes in the field of migration continues in Russia: police officers regularly discover Telegram channels offering illegal services related to document processing. Information about such resources is promptly forwarded to Roskomnadzor for blocking.

Migration authorities strongly urge foreign citizens to contact only official institutions — the territorial divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Sakharovo Multifunctional Migration Center in Moscow, or branches of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "PVS." Attempts to obtain migration documents through private intermediaries, including offers on classified advertisement websites, may lead to serious legal consequences, stated Irina Volk.

In order to strengthen control over compliance with migration legislation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation carried out a series of technical and organizational measures. Since the beginning of 2025, 1,374 cases of using fake migration documents have been recorded — almost 42% more than during the same period last year.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reminds that the production or use of forged official papers, stamps, seals, and other documents is classified as a criminal offense and entails corresponding liability.
