Vladimir Putin signed a law on the new expulsion regime for migrants
Foreigners without a visa will not be allowed to stay in Russia for more than 90 days
Details
"The changes apply only to foreign citizens entering Russia under a visa-free regime"
On January 1, 2025, new rules came into force in Russia, limiting the duration of stay for foreign citizens entering the country without a visa.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that the total time such foreigners can spend in Russia must now not exceed 90 days within one year. Previously, this restriction allowed for 90 days within every 180-day period.
These changes are governed by the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation" and apply only to those entering the country under a visa-free regime.
For visa holders, the duration of stay remains unchanged and depends on the validity of the visa itself.
