The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has announced the preparation for an experiment called "Start Business Online," aimed at enabling the remote registration of businesses, opening bank accounts, and obtaining electronic signatures. The corresponding draft resolution has been submitted to the Russian government.
- Individuals registering as individual entrepreneurs;
- Founders of limited liability companies (LLCs) with a single founder who simultaneously performs the functions of a sole executive body.
According to the statement from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, it is planned that the experiment will continue until March 1, 2025, with specific deadlines to be approved by the Russian government. Participation in the experiment will be voluntary.
The process of online business registration involves the applicant:
- Choosing a bank where they plan to open an account;
- Agreeing to the remote issuance of an electronic signature for opening an account;
- Providing the necessary documents to the registering authority through the electronic services of the Federal Tax Service of Russia (FNS) or the services of a participating bank in the experiment.
The pilot period will allow assessing the convenience of the proposed format and identifying additional services needed for starting and developing a business, as added by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
