"The changes will affect the cost of services at consular offices abroad"
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has published an updated version of the tariff order for services provided by consular offices and diplomatic missions to citizens residing abroad.
The proposed changes include an increase in the cost of obtaining a regular foreign passport from $30 to $35, as well as a biometric passport from $80 to $90. Additionally, it is suggested to double the state fee for submitting an application for the renunciation of Russian citizenship, raising it from $65 to $130.
The explanatory note to the document indicates that the tariff rates for consular services at foreign consular offices have not been revised since 2010, despite more than a 30% decrease in the purchasing power of the US dollar due to inflation during that time.
