The Federation Council discussed efforts to clarify immigration legislation

Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko stated that work is underway in Russia to clarify immigration legislation. She emphasized the need to work without emotions, involving experts and lawyers, to clarify laws and interstate agreements regarding labor migration.

The politician emphasized issues of corruption and shortcomings in law enforcement practices in this area and expressed the opinion that migration processes should be transferred to the interstate level.

The Speaker of the Federation Council also proposed organizing training centers for migrants and tightening requirements for employers who invite them to work.
