V Gosdume RF Planiruyut Sozdat Federalnoe Ministerstvo Po Delam Migracii

"The leader of the LDPR, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, stated that conclusions should be drawn in light of the situation in France"

Russia needs a new government body, specifically the Ministry of Migration, to deal with the "socialization of guests arriving in the country," said the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky.

"We are a kind and hospitable nation, we welcome everyone, but we are not ready to tolerate disrespect for our culture and traditions. The creation of closed national enclaves within our metropolises is unacceptable. It is necessary to tighten control at the entry point, carefully screening every migrant. If an applicant for work in Russia has a criminal past, they have no place here," said the LDPR leader.

Earlier, the idea of establishing a similar ministry in Russia was proposed by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots, Konstantin Zatulin, who noted that the migration issue is currently being addressed by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD). According to him, migration is classified in the budget section as a fight against crime, which he considers abnormal. The parliamentarian emphasized that he would like the initiative of the State Duma deputies to create a new separate agency to be heard by the Russian government.

Kirill Kabanov, a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of Russia, expressed opposition to the creation of a new Ministry of Migration. In his opinion, merging existing migration structures will not solve the problem. "The current system produces good results because criticism and objective assessment often come from the Russian MVD and the Agency for Nationalities Affairs. If we gather everything in one ministry, there will be no more criticism," Kabanov noted.
