Evropejskij Parlament Prizval Otmenit Prava Intellektualnoj Sobstvennosti Na COVID Vakciny

"The document was supported by 355 parliamentarians, 263 voted against, 71 abstained"

Members of the European Parliament have called for the temporary abolition of intellectual property rights for COVID-19 vaccines to accelerate global immunization. The abolition of patents, it is noted, will improve access to drugs in the world at affordable prices.

“To increase the global production of vaccines on a long-term basis, it is necessary to ensure the transfer of know-how and technology,” added the European Parliament.

Recall that a proposal to suspend patents for drugs against coronavirus was put forward by India and South Africa in 2020. The appeal was supported by almost 60 countries.
