The International Confederation of Consumer Societies (ConfOP) sent a letter to Rospotrebnadzor with a proposal to increase the amount of fines for violation of consumer rights. We are talking about the articles of Chapter 14 of the Administrative Code: deception, provision of unfair services, their imposition, etc.
For the repeated commission of these actions, it is planned to introduce turnover fines, their size may fluctuate depending on the industry and its profitability - from 1 to 5%.
The current fines (from 20 to 50 thousand rubles) are nominal, said Dmitry Yanin, chairman of the board of KonfOP. Turnover fines, which currently exist only in antimonopoly legislation, could change the situation, he said.
