V Rossii Planiruetsya Uvelichit Shtraf Za Polzovanie Telefonom Za Rulem

"The amount of the sanction may be 10 thousand rubles"

The head of the movement "For Safety" Dmitry Kurdesov proposed to increase the fine for motorists for using the telephone while driving. The corresponding letter was sent to the head of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mikhail Chernikov.

Kurdesov recalled that currently the fine for this offense is 1,500 rubles. In this case, for example, parking in a parking space for disabled people, which does not pose a direct threat to the life and health of other people, is punished in the amount of 5 thousand rubles.

“I ask you to assess the feasibility of amending the Code of Administrative Offenses in terms of increasing the fine for drivers for using the telephone while driving to 10 thousand rubles,” the text of the appeal says.

Earlier, the traffic police reported that since the beginning of 2021 in Moscow, with the help of CCTV cameras, drivers have been issued more than 56 thousand fines for not wearing seat belts and for talking on the phone while driving.
