The State Duma of the Russian Federation has developed a bill on clarifying the rules of punishment for those who sell goods without mandatory labeling or in violation of the rules for its application. Currently, administrative responsibility is established only for the production or sale of goods that are not labeled in the prescribed manner (Article 15.12 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation).
The innovations are related to the clarification of the legislation on labeling. If earlier it covered only the sale, exchange or other introduction of goods into circulation, now it covers the introduction into circulation, circulation and withdrawal from circulation.
Recall that earlier criminal sanctions in the field of product labeling were clarified. From December 1, 2021, liability will appear for the use of counterfeit means of labeling goods. At the same time, a special punishment was established for the use of false labeling on food products.
