The Government of the Russian Federation has approved draft general schemes for the development of the oil and gas industries in Russia until 2035.
The purpose of the development of the first general scheme is to determine economically feasible directions for the development of the oil industry. The document specifies the target vision for the future development of the industry, as laid down in the energy strategy until 2035.
The purpose of developing a general gas scheme is to determine economically feasible directions for the development of the gas industry to ensure reliable gas supply to existing and prospective consumers, fulfill obligations under intergovernmental agreements and concluded gas supply contracts, as well as implement measures to expand new supplies to the external market.
The government also approved the simplification of foreign exchange control requirements for exporters. It is noted that the document introduces amendments to the law “On currency regulation and currency control”.
