Vladimir Putin Otklonil Zakon O Fejkah V SMI

"The document was returned to the State Duma on June 15, the next day the rejected bill was submitted to the relevant committee"

Russian President Vladimir Putin vetoed a new law that made the media accountable for spreading fakes. The document was previously adopted by the State Duma and the Federation Council.

The rejected law was developed by the first deputy head of the Duma committee on information policy, Sergei Boyarsky, and deputy Yevgeny Revenko. Boyarsky stated that the current version of the media law allows journalists to quote non-existent publications.

The document spelled out the basis for exemption from liability for the spread of fakes - if the information is a verbatim reproduction of messages and materials or their fragments by the media, in which the editor-in-chief can be identified and prosecuted.

The document was returned to the State Duma of the Russian Federation on June 15. On June 16, the rejected law was submitted to the relevant committee.
