"The Government of Russia has temporarily banned the export of some medical products from the country"

The limitation concerns medical masks, protective respirators and goggles, disinfectants and antiviral agents, bandages, surgical gloves, shoe covers and a number of other products.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the resolution banning the export of a number of medical products from the country due to coronavirus by June 1, 2020. The corresponding document is published on the government website.

This resolution is associated with the actions of resellers. According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, now some people are buying medical products in Russian pharmacies and exporting them for sale abroad.

The export of medical devices for international humanitarian assistance and personal use is not prohibited. There are no restrictions on the sale of medical masks within Russia.

Today in Russia about 1.5 million masks are produced per day. However, in conditions of increased demand, this was not enough. Moscow authorities spent 200 million rubles on the purchase of medical masks. Information about the contract is available on the public procurement website.

An outbreak of coronavirus occurred in December 2019 in China. According to the latest data, 90 thousand people have become infected with the virus in the world, more than 3 thousand have died.
