Each company is assigned an administrative payment of 63 000 USD. The penalty must be paid within 60 days after the resolution is entered into force.
Lawyers of Twitter, Facebook and representatives of Roskomnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications of Russia) were not present the trial. At the same time, Roskomnadzor announced its readiness for dialogue and recalled that Twitter and Facebook should still host servers in Russia.
In December 2019, Vladimir Putin signed the law on punishment for violating the requirements for storing personal data of Russian citizens: up to 3 000 USD fine for officials and up to 94 000 USD for legal entities. For repeated violations, the penalty for officials will amount to 12.5 000 USD, for companies - up to 283 000 USD.
